# CryptoRoute > CryptoRoute is a non-custodial, route-specific cross-chain crypto swap engine built on the NEAR Intents (1Click) settlement layer. It shows a live quote with one all-in rate for a swap between assets on different blockchains and tracks the swap wallet-to-wallet. No account and no identity KYC are required for standard swaps, and CryptoRoute never holds user funds or private keys. ## Swap CryptoRoute is a route-specific swap engine rather than a generic exchange. It is built around individual routes — concrete paths like "USDT on Tron → USDC on Solana" — and every supported asset-and-network pair has a dedicated page with the exact rate, the all-in fee, network-specific address validation, and warnings for that route. Coverage spans 45+ chains (including Ethereum, Solana, Tron, Bitcoin, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, TON and XRP), 30+ tokens, and 7446+ supported routes; figures are approximate and grow as networks and assets are added. A swap follows four steps. First, pick the route: what you have and what you want, across any supported network. Second, get a live quote showing the exact rate, the all-in service fee, and the minimum you will receive — no account or sign-up required. Third, add your recipient address on the destination network; cross-chain swaps also require a refund address on the origin network so funds can return if the swap cannot complete. Addresses are validated against the correct network format before you proceed. Fourth, send the exact quoted amount to a one-time deposit address and follow the live status page until the destination asset arrives. The security model is non-custodial end to end. CryptoRoute never holds, stores, or has access to private keys, seed phrases, or balances — funds move from the sender's wallet, through a per-swap deposit address generated by the execution provider (NEAR Intents / 1Click, not CryptoRoute), to the recipient address. Swaps are settled by NEAR Intents, an intent-based settlement layer where independent solvers compete to fill the order across chains; CryptoRoute is the routing and quoting interface in front of it. Swap initiation is blocked from sanctioned and restricted regions using a trusted edge geolocation signal (fail-closed when geo cannot be resolved), and deposit/payout addresses are screened against sanctions and illicit-activity databases via a third-party blockchain-analytics (KYT) provider. If a swap cannot complete, funds are returned only to the refund address on the origin network supplied at swap creation; for swaps started without an account, refund payouts additionally require the one-time claim secret issued at swap creation. Pricing is a single transparent service fee that is already reflected in the quoted output. The standard rate is 0.50% of the swap amount; where a route carries route-specific pricing, that rate appears in the quote itself. Network fees are included in the quoted rate, and there are no deposit, withdrawal, or account fees. ## CryptoRoute Pay CryptoRoute Pay lets merchants accept crypto payments via hosted invoices, payment links, and a REST API. The merchant creates an invoice denominated in USD and receives a hosted checkout link; the customer pays with any crypto the merchant accepts (per the space's accepted-coins setting). Behind the scenes the deposit is swapped to USDT on Optimism and delivered directly to the merchant's settlement address — CryptoRoute does not hold the funds on the happy path. The default service fee is 1%, applied as a spread inside the swap. Merchants can integrate two ways: hosted checkout (create an invoice and redirect the customer to its URL — CryptoRoute renders the coin picker, deposit address, QR, and live status) or fully via the API (create an invoice, list payable currencies, bind a coin to get the deposit address and exact amount, then poll or receive webhooks for status). Authentication uses per-space Bearer API keys (`pk_live_` prefixed) issued from the merchant dashboard. Webhooks are delivered for invoice lifecycle events — invoice.created (API-created invoices only), invoice.payment_pending, invoice.payment_detected, invoice.settled, invoice.expired, invoice.refunding, invoice.refunded, and invoice.manual_review — and are signed with HMAC-SHA256 over a timestamped payload via the `X-CryptoRoute-Signature` header, with a 5-minute replay tolerance and at-least-once delivery semantics. Merchants must complete onboarding (entity type, legal name, country, business address, contact details) before accepting payments; applications are reviewed and approved individually. No. CryptoRoute is a non-custodial interface: it never holds, stores, or has access to user funds, private keys, seed phrases, or balances. Swaps move wallet-to-wallet through a per-swap deposit address generated by the execution provider (NEAR Intents / 1Click), and funds are never pooled in or controlled by a CryptoRoute account. ### Do I need an account or KYC to swap? No account or sign-up is required to complete a swap, and CryptoRoute does not perform identity KYC for standard swaps. Screening is risk-based at the address and jurisdiction level: swap initiation is blocked from sanctioned regions, and deposit/payout addresses are screened via a third-party KYT provider. Where activity presents elevated risk, additional measures may apply, including requests for information or refusal of service. An optional account stores only a history of swaps started while logged in. ### What does a swap cost? One all-in service fee, shown in the quote before you send anything. The standard rate is 0.50%; any route-specific pricing appears in the quote itself. Network fees are included in the quoted rate, and there are no deposit, withdrawal, or account fees. ### What happens if my swap fails? If a swap cannot complete — for example, an underpaid or late deposit, or a provider-side failure — funds are returned to the refund address on the origin network that you supplied when creating the swap. Refunds go only to that address, never to new addresses, alternative networks, or third parties. Swaps started without an account additionally require the one-time claim secret issued at swap creation to claim a refund payout. ### Which chains and tokens are supported? 45+ blockchains (including Ethereum, Solana, Tron, Bitcoin, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, TON, and XRP), 30+ tokens, and 7446+ supported asset-and-network routes. Coverage grows as networks and assets are added; figures are approximate. ### Who executes the swap? Swaps are routed and settled through NEAR Intents (1Click), an intent-based settlement layer where independent solvers compete to fill the order across chains. CryptoRoute is the routing and quoting interface in front of that settlement layer: it presents the live quote, the exact fee, and the deposit instructions, then tracks the swap to completion. ### What is CryptoRoute Pay? A crypto payment product for merchants: hosted USD-denominated invoices, payment links, and a REST API with signed webhooks. Customers pay in any supported crypto; the deposit is swapped to USDT on Optimism and delivered directly to the merchant's settlement address. The default service fee is 1%. Merchants complete a due-diligence onboarding before accepting payments. ### Who operates CryptoRoute?
